Built on something you can repeat over and over again. Why go at something half interested? It will show. It won't sell. You will get frustrated. Show some heart. Get some passion flowing.

If you can't get that passion flowing and deliver with Purpose then perhaps you should re-think what ever it is you are attempting to do. The current economic climate has generated more advice about careers than a squad of Marines possibly could digest. However, seldom is career and passion ever discussed together. Over the past 15 years I would estimated that I’ve conducted over a thousand interviews, the best candidates consistently demonstrate a passion for their profession.

It is important not to confuse excitement for passion, as a person can be excited about getting a job because of the commute or paycheck. However, they may not have a passion to actually perform the work associated with the opportunity.

If you are not fanatical about your career, focus on something that excites you – whether it is nutrition, network marketing or wood working; then and create a plan that will allow you to trade in your J-O-B for something that will fill your days with exciting challenges. Remember not to rush into this; do your home work and create a plan. You’ll probably want to start this venture as a second career (read this short article on how “A Passion Became A Career”).

If this effort grows into your “dream job”, then chart a path to convert it into your full-time profession.

Your life consist of limited days – don’t waste them doing something that is void of joy.
