Listening to several medical professionals it is becoming quite clear that the current generation of teenagers will NOT out live their parents. This is not only sad but frightening. These children are growing up obese and in most cases morbidly so.
What this also means is that as they have families their life experiences will be passed on to their children and so on it goes. Watching and listening to the famed Dr. Oz on the Oprah channel is becoming his number one topic for months. What to do about all these over weight teenagers who are about to enter the Health System on the wrong foot.
Is it too late for this generation? No. Education has never been easier with the advent of the media's expansion with iTunes and the internet itself we have the technology that if we focused our attention on the big picture we could create message products that export to these devices that our children are so accustomed to and begin the same type of campaign as the Seat Belt syndrome of the 1970's and 1980's.
When is the last time you saw a child NOT put on their seat belt? Well, when I grew up some of the cars didn't even have the belts. They just were not there. Today, my kids and their friends are buckling up faster than I do. It's the law. Well, to save our children maybe we take on the same approach but not to such an extreme as making it a set of laws on obesity.

Stem Cell Research
With the Obama team now officially installed in the White House there are exciting opportunities in the medical arena. The Bush administration was very clear about their position on Stem Cell research and would NOT support the movement even though the promise of remarkable healing potential was becoming more evident.
Now with Obama we have a President who (at least during his campaign run) was Pro Stem Cell research. President Obama Lifts The Ban This is just one article of many that the new President is sticking to his guns on Pro Stem Cell research.
This could be the answer to many who are fighting for their lives or have debilitating conditions like Rheumatoid Arthritis where perhaps the key to solving the puzzle is in stem cell research and development of a cure.
Stay in the fight. Keep your local media and government officials on notice.
We look forward to your comments.

2009 And The Year Ahead
Blink and February will be here. We have been so busy with the main web site that the blog has been a bit neglected. Wow, and as we type this note we see that January is beyond the halfway mark. At this rate it will be the Winter Holidays all over again. When will Ground Hog day end?
In a few days the United States will say goodbye to the Bush administration and hello to the Obama Family. The Bush years have been like no other. One has to look back to World War II for the last comparison to our nation being attacked and the years that followed the Pearl Harbor attack by Japan. Who can accurately predict the future when it comes to these things and how one person or team will react in kind. No one can. We can only hope that the new leadership will keep up the level of national defense that has Stopped all other attempts within the USA since the infamous day on Sept 11, 2001.
President Obama will have many agenda items to take action on. We can only hope that the Obesity issues that are dominating our youth does not fall off the wagon of things needing funding and attention. Our future depends on a healthy population. To not pay attention to this can and will cripple the Medical Industry and it's ability to support the future population with proper care. Is the nation to blame? Of course not. We make our own decisions as individuals on what to eat and when to exercise. But the nation can inflict it's great reach on the public by creating programs that encourage the private sector to help manage healthy foods, fundamental programs in fitness and resulting in a Total Fitness for America.
To solve the world's hunger needs while pulling in the raging Obesity dilemma is quite the tall order. To fail on these two topics is unacceptable to the future of a Nation and in some cases the world order as we know it.
