I'm sure I don't speak for all but I for one am damm tired of our Media and it's doomsday approach to our current state of affairs. I'm watching Good Morning America on CBS and even with their Editor In Chief on the panel they can't seem to get a single "spin" in a positive direction.
Ok, I'm sure you could say that Nothing is good right now. That is just not true. We have the potential to achieve a complete rebound from this very dark period. But that's the point. This is a period of time. It is not the End of Time. We all need to adjust but if everyone put their money under the mattress as CBS would suggest then they are actually hurting themselves. We need to invest. We need to look forward not backwards.
Republicans lost the White House. Get over it. We need to support the Administration right now. Whether you agree or disagree with Obama or not we all need to give his policies an opportunity to succeed. The prevailing winds of doom and gloom are driving the average American to react as if the news was 'forever' not a moment in time.
We caused this. We trusted the banks. We trusted the "System". We all watched as neighborhoods grew up over night with ARM's being produced for under qualifying families to live the American Dream per Bill Clinton. The current problems we are seeing and talking about are rooted back in his administration and not questioned or adjusted during the Bush administration.
Now, here's the real problem. Healthcare. Imagine if we were able to invest the kinds of money we are dumping in the banks into our healthcare system. Obesity is growing at an alarming rate. State budgets are blown out and are now contracting thus taking money from important areas such as School programs. This will be the end of our financial system not the current run.
So, back to the topic. This won't apply to everyone but think about he relative level of the Dow Jones and NASDAQ markets. Historically low as compared to the past 3-4 years. Glass half full or empty? I say invest. I say we should all be taking our available discretionary funds and buying into this market. Is it at the bottom? Who cares. Buying now and buying monthly is the right way to go. These are my opinions but if you have greater than 10 years to retire like I do then this could be your retirement like never before. I plan to double up as much I can in my 401k and IRA accounts to the fullest the law will allow.
Time is both our friend and our enemy. I say half full. What say you?
We look forward to your comments.
